Child Abuse Prevention Center of New York

MISSION STATEMENT

The Child Abuse Prevention Center is a 501(c) (3) not-for-profit organization who seeks to significantly reduce child abuse and neglect in Westchester County, New York. We provide parents with the tools needed to raise their children to be happy, healthy and productive members of the community. We believe that the future of our community can be significantly improved by the successful accomplishment of our mission. Our professional staff and volunteers are dedicated to the accomplishment of this mission.

An affiliate of the National Exchange Club Foundation that includes over 100 similar organizations.
Founded in 1982 by five Westchester Exchange Clubs. We were the 8^th such Center in the country and the first in New York State.
Financially supported by foundations, businesses, individuals and the Westchester County Department of Social Services.
Provides support to families using a home visitation model that strengthens the parent/child relationship and improves the home atmosphere.
Our Parent Aides are graduate Social Work Interns, Volunteers, and our Professional Staff.
We serve approximately 90 families a year with about an 85% success rate.
Our Volunteers collectively contributed over 7,500 hours of time last year.
Our Center’s Staff of 7 are knowledgeable, diverse and dedicated individuals.
Our Social Work Interns number 6 and are currently from Universities such as Columbia, Fordham, Hunter and NYU.
We have a volunteer Board of prestigious individuals who are actively involved in our programs
