Interns

The Center provides a comprehensive internship program for students obtaining their Masters Degree in Social Work from Fordham University, Hunter College School of Social Work, New York University and Columbia University, Bachelors Degree in Social Work from Lehman College or Associates Degree in Human Services from Westchester Community College.

Fieldwork integrates the school’s requirements, our Center’s needs and the student's expectations, providing an individualized learning experience.

• Participation in intensive and interactive 12 hour training program
• Attendance in student orientation program
• Participation in weekly Friday morning Group Supervision sessions

1. Have a caseload of 3 – 7 client families utilizing the home visition model.
2. Take telephone referrals
3. Develop referral sources
4. Perform Initial Needs Assessments (psycho-social intakes)
5. Take HELPLINE calls
6. Develop, market and facilitate a parenting group
7. Become involved with a community outreach and education project
8. Facilitate a Group Supervision meeting
9. Offer a case presentation
